Day OFF

By admin in Personal

Today is my day off!!! Hurray! Took Siena to the vet and have to change her food yet again. We changed their food because Orion is allergic to chicken but now Siena might be allergic to the new food. She might have to be a vegetarian!!! I don’t know how well that is going to go over.

Read the book “Cracking India” by Bapsi Sidhwa. I discovered it after seeing the moving “Earth” by Deepa Mehta. I loved the movie and I was uncertain about the book even though the book came first. But after reading it, I feel that it is very well written and having watched the movie first really didn’t take away from the reading experience. I feel like I need to pack my day off with as much stuff as I possibly can. November is here and I know that it’ll be gone soon. Next week is already busy and then the following week is Thanksgiving. We come back from Thanksgiving and we’re into December with tests every week. Since we have tests so often it doesn’t really feel crazy. We’ve gotten to the point of saying “Oh, another test” rather than “EEEK!”

I’ve become more active in school activities since becoming the AAMC rep. I realized that instead of just complaining about how things are, I should either try to change things or shut up. I’ve decided to try and change things. First experiment is to stare everyone in the eye, smile, and say hello when I pass them in the hallways. They will either smile back out of compulsion, feel awkward, or not care. Option 1 is the best but I’ll settle for option 2. Why do we go through our day without connecting with another human being? Even a quick smile is better than walking like a robot and feeling isolated from the world.

We’re getting a photography interest group started. I’m really excited about this and hope that it’ll become something fun and inspirational. *Crossing fingers*

My blogging has become sporadic. I have a lot to write about but don’t have the time. And when I do have the time, those feelings/thoughts aren’t present anymore.
