Ouch

I got this really cute bag for Christmas and have been carrying that to school instead of the backpack whenever I don’t need my laptop. I think that having it on only one shoulder is causing my neck pain again. What is up with my body? Everyone else can carry a bag on one shoulder without feeling like their neck is going to snap if they turn the wrong way too fast.

I’m onto 3 miles now. I’m still slow. Three miles in about 40 minutes. No laughter please. I am proud of myself since I used to run 0 miles. Haha. Anything is better than 0. At first I had horrible pains in the arch of my left foot. Now that pain is gone and I have really painful anterior shin splints on my right leg. Problem is that I’m a TERRIBLE stretcher. I had to split it up today. I did 1.75 miles but couldn’t go anymore because of the terrible pain. So I did some yoga to stretch out the muscles and felt so much better. Then I went and did the other 1.25 miles which were so much easier after having stretched. Moral of the story for dummies like me: STRETCH…REALLY STRETCH…ACTUALLY STRETCH! I think that I’ll do the yoga before I run from now on so that I force myself to take my time and stretch. I can’t ruin a good thing because of the pain.
